Holiday Card Contest

Dear Hazelwood Families,

I apologize for any confusion or offense caused by the Holiday Card instructions. Each year, this contest is held to showcase the artistic and creative abilities of our students.

In an effort to be inclusive of all students, my instructions to the committee were to accept all cards submitted by students regardless of their individual religious tradition. It was never my intention to exclude cards that say Merry Christmas. I should have been more clear with my instructions and should have caught the error before the note was sent home. 

All students at Hazelwood Elementary are welcome and encouraged to submit holiday cards and to say Merry Christmas, as well as any other holiday greetings.  Please feel free to call me at school if you have further questions.
