OPERATION CHRISTMAS BOXES – Deadline for Donations:    Friday, December 9th

It has been a holiday tradition for Hazelwood Elementary students and staff to collect items for Christmas boxes for the elderly in our community.  We believe this project is a wonderful way to show the spirit of giving and caring.  There are many elderly residents in Haywood County who need our help to ensure they have a wonderful Christmas this year.   Each classroom will have boxes available where your child may put items they bring.  Listed below are some suggested items:

  • Canned goods with pop top lids
  • Liquid dish detergent
  • Toilet paper (4 pack)
  • Batteries
  • Socks (both men and women)
  • Nail files or clippers
  • Candy
  • Bars of soap (or liquid hand soap)
  • Small blankets or throws
  • Pens and notepads
  • Postage stamps
  • Hand and body lotion
  • Flashlight
  • Paper towels
  • Light bulbs
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Gloves
  • Magazines
  • Snacks – crackers, cookies, popcorn, hot chocolate mix, etc.
