North Carolina Standard Course of Study

Homework Policy:

Homework will be assigned nightly to all students.  Students in grades 2-5 should record daily, weekly, or long-term assignments in their agenda books. This book will help the students manage time and homework assignments.

At-home reading assignments (grades K-5th) and short written math homework assignments (grades K-5th) will be given each night.  It is expected that students will read over the weekend.

Testing Program:

Our school follows the testing program established by our local district and the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction. Mandated tests for the elementary grades in the Spring are:

English Language Arts/Reading EOG Tests for Grades 3-5
Math EOG Tests for Grades 3-5
Science EOG Test for Grade 5

Report Cards and Progress Reports:

Report Cards will be issued at the end of every nine weeks.

Progress Reports will be issued at the mid-term of each nine weeks.
